Morning mantras
Gayatri

Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat

Sanskrit is a language that suggests several possibilities of interpretation. Following our Guru Sri Sri Hans Raj Maharajji, a possible translation is:
Om. In all the three worlds, terrestrial, astral and celestial; May we meditate upon the splendor of that divine sun which illuminates all. May the golden light nourishes our understanding, and guides us in our journey to the sacred seat.

Following Shantimayi (another heiress of the Sachcha lineage, Maharajji’s disciple): Throughout all realms of experience ‘That’ essential nature illuminating existence is the adorable One. May all beings perceive through subtle and meditative intellect the magnificent brilliance of enlightened awareness.
The Gayatri is an ancient vigil surrounding the planet.

It is a pearl from the depth. It is a jewel among the treasures that our Guru and the Sachcha lineage have handed down from generation to generation. The Hindus were guardians of the Gayatri; it was they who taught it and propagated it throughout the world.  You could say that the Gayatri Mantra is their offering to the spirit of humanity and the awakening of all beings.  However, the scope of Gayatri’s invocation is universal and transgresses all borders of secular religion.

The Gayatri is one of the keynotes for the transformation of consciousness and is an identical vibration to the vital force in nature. The mantra is most effective when chanted in its original language Sanskrit.  It is one of the oldest prayers known to humanity; its sentiment is as ancient as light.  This prayer appeals to the highest wisdom, to the brilliance of the cosmos, to illumine an understanding of our true nature. The appeal requests that we become subtle and receptive to the divine wisdom that pervades the experience of life and is in essence our true nature.

To chant the Gayatri Mantra purifies the chanter.

To listen to the Gayatri Mantra purifies the listener.

This sacred prayer spirals out through the entire universe from the heart of the chanter, appealing for peace and divine wisdom for all. Silently thinking or speaking or chanting the Gayatri Mantra influences the physical body, clears the emotional body, leading one to the inner heart.  The Gayatri stimulates and facilitates insightfulness and awakening to the Truth within all.

A Perfect Recitation of the Gayatri Mantra

Begin by drawing a full deep breath through both nostrils equally,
filling your lower diaphragm.

Begin to release the breath gently as you recite the mantra.

One breath length is one mantra recitation.

This is a way to empower your recitation.

It is the yogic method

However, whatever methods you may use, the greatest power of all is ignited by chanting from the heart.

Parmatma Ki Jay Ho!
Sri Sachche Maha Prabhu Ki Jay Ho!
